Faculty and Staff OrientationThis one day event for new faculty and staff is the U of A¿s way of welcoming you to our community.
At Faculty and Staff Orientation, you will have the opportunity to learn about the U of A and meet other new employees. This event is a general orientation session that addresses the organization as a whole. You will receive an overview of the University's mission and structure, along with information on essential contracts, services and programs.
Orientation to your specific role and work area (i.e. job specific orientation) is not covered and are the responsibility of your supervisor, manager or leader.
Highlights of the day include welcoming remarks and key organizational messages from high-level University administrators, and the Information Marketplace, which is a trade show with representatives from the many services and resources available to support you professionally and personally. A 1-hour walking tour of the campus will be available at the end of the program (2:30 pm). U of A staff members who have not attended a previous Orientation are welcome. Faculty and Staff Orientation is not designed for students who are working at the university as part of their educational programs or casual short-term/part-time staff, e.g. teaching assistants and research assistants, so please ask us if you are unsure of your eligibility to participate.
Check-in begins at 8:30 am, and the session runs 9:00 am - 3:30 pm with lunch included.
Cancellation deadline for those who have registered is one week prior to the event. This event is very popular, so please cancel your registration if your ability to attend changes.
